Pablo Acosta kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silviu Miclea. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Noia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durvalino Toscano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geovani Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the match, Noia's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Geovani Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovani Velloso having to interfere. The Noia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

If Durvalino Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Geovani Velloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Saverio Amor kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 72nd minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Felix Montenegro hit a great ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Toscano in the 80th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 84th minute, which Geovani Velloso however easily saved by the left post. After 85 minutes Noia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Noia's Geovani Velloso did a great save. After 87 minutes of play, Noia's Silviu Miclea made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 90 minutes, Falcão Peres mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Noia and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th match minute, Noia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Falcão Peres to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geovani Velloso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play.
