Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Filomeno Mendebal started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lazaros Kabantais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Milagros Fraga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Lazaros Kabantais tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 6 minutes of play, Peru's Julian Murillo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lazaros Kabantais was left in no man's land by his defense there! Efraim Gilabert hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lazaros Kabantais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 13th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Lazaros Kabantais was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horacio Abajas in the 17th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lazaros Kabantais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 18th minute of the match. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filomeno Mendebal in the 21st minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horacio Abajas, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Horacio Abajas came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Carlos Larpe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Carlos Larpe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Los Materos FC's Lazaros Kabantais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 33rd minute of play. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Los Materos FC's goalie and right to Eliseo Mina. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Los Materos FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 41st minute. Julian Murillo made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that Los Materos FC's Lazaros Kabantais managed to reach the ball for a save. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by Los Materos FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Moises Gayoso fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lazaros Kabantais quite easily take care of the ball. After 44 minutes Los Materos FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Pierre-Loup Villaume thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Lazaros Kabantais, a very annoying self made goal in the 45th minute which led to 0-3. Eleuterio Rufio hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Los Materos FC's Lazaros Kabantais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Horacio Abajas came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Los Materos FC's Aaron Molina got a free kick in the 57th minute. Lazaros Kabantais made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 62nd minute. Los Materos FC's Elias Furman was substituted for Carlos Larpe. Los Materos FC's Tincho Palermo was substituted for Filomeno Mendebal. Los Materos FC made a substitution. Braulio Milian replaced Horacio Abajas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 72nd minute of play forced Los Materos FC's goalkeeper Lazaros Kabantais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Peru booed when Los Materos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Molina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tincho Palermo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tincho Palermo in the 79th minute of play. Los Materos FC were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Braulio Milian took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Elias Furman heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Peru's Alonso Berganza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mariano Ugaitz, made in the 84th minute of the game. Tincho Palermo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tincho Palermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. With an all-out effort, Peru's Lazaros Kabantais threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rafael Gallo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Peru supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
