An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 13th minute of play forced FC Berea's goalkeeper Dacian Iurea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 16 minutes, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Puig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Axel Tasis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dacian Iurea was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Martin Coraș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Berea's Gigi Ardeleanu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Efrain Moruga, made in the 47th minute of the game. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Berea Matei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hugo Ferrant made in the 52nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by FC Berea's Basarab Arotăriței. FC Berea's Moise Boacă got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 61st minute of the game Efrain Moruga made a throw-in which Eliseo Noboa played forward. FC Berea's Martin Coraș got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 72nd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Moruga to maneuver through the defense. When Eliseo Noboa fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Eliseo Noboa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute, Olimpiu Tapalagă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dacian Iurea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Tasis in the 86th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the game, Abel Carballo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Berea the free kick. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Codruț Plop in the 95th minute of the match. FC Berea were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
