In the 2nd minute, Björn Kamp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ingvar Nykvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassius Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Edmondo Del Monte managed to work through USA's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Edmondo Del Monte dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Ingvar Nykvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 19th minute of play. Vassilis Bitsikas hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Ingvar Nykvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 29th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Monty Rogers put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ingvar Nykvist. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by ΠΑΟΚ FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cassius Byrne was slow to take the kick. During this time USA's players had a chance to rest. Edward Mcdonald made a great header on USA's corner, it was just that ΠΑΟΚ FC's Ingvar Nykvist managed to reach the ball for a save. If Santiago Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Jenson Smith hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marco Day made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Edmondo Del Monte sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as ΠΑΟΚ FC's Petros Mirtsos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marco Day. That made the score 1-1 after 48 minutes of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

52 minutes into the match, Edmondo Del Monte had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Day. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmondo Del Monte was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Jenson Smith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ingvar Nykvist having to interfere. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Zheng Yang Zhen was substituted for Vassilis Bitsikas. With an all-out effort, USA's Ingvar Nykvist threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edward Mcdonald, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmondo Del Monte in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Santiago Silva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Day was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Ingvar Nykvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 72nd minute of play. A collision led to ΠΑΟΚ FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Petros Mirtsos hit a great ball. Petros Mirtsos kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Marco Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zheng Yang Zhen's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Ingvar Nykvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 87th minute of play. Ingvar Nykvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 87th minute of play. If Zheng Yang Zhen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. Marco Day came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by ΠΑΟΚ FC's Santiago Silva. But to his dismay, Santiago Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. 96 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Sotiris Zacharakis came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. USA's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because ΠΑΟΚ FC had won, even though USA had held more of the ball.
