Paulo Romelio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Alguacil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo Romelio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abraham Alguacil went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 8 minutes into the match, La Gallardeta's goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Alguacil came free, but Paulo Romelio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Romelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Alguacil, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 20th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Berganza to maneuver through the defense. Paulo Romelio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abraham Alguacil in the 21st minute of play. Aaron Barrios kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Casimiro Erramun sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the La Gallardeta defense, Miguel Miralles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Romelio. The La Gallardeta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Romelio should have stopped the shot. Marcos Madeo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Marcos Cotilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Matthew Garrido in the 40th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by La Gallardeta's Narciso Matteo. In the 43rd minute, Isidoro Sarmiento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

After 51 minutes of play, La Gallardeta's Eliseo Illan made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Cotilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paulo Romelio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 54th minute of play. Donato Izotz's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donato Izotz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 57th minute, Donato Izotz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Paulo Romelio. The goal made the score 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Illan in the 61st minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Romelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abraham Alguacil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Paulo Romelio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Miguel Miralles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Romelio was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. 75 minutes into the match, La Gallardeta's goalkeeper Paulo Romelio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Isidoro Sarmiento. Paulo Romelio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Miralles in the 83rd minute of play. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Romelio having to interfere. Abraham Alguacil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Paulo Romelio made a huge save. Panama's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
