Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute Simon Ferrer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PLUMIN's Rodrigo Massó played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Rodrigo Massó tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodrigo Massó showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of the match. In the 29th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Luis Andino made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that PLUMIN's Rodrigo Massó managed to reach the ball for a save. 33 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Simon Ferrer. If Cirilo Salvino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cirilo Salvino, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Cirilo Salvino came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodrigo Massó read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Cirilo Salvino made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Simon Ferrer's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cirilo Salvino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. In the 64th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Massó saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rodrigo Massó quite easily take care of the ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rodrigo Massó took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
