Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniil Fomin in the 18th minute of play. In the 22nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrey Dvoryankin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Daniil Fomin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniil Fomin in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arsenal F.C. made a substitution. Stanislav Sharapov replaced Paolo Rossi. After 69 minutes, Juan Sebastián Puig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Arsenal F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card.
