After having played for 12 minutes, Mariusz Kornaszewski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wisła Kraków's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mariusz Kornaszewski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Wisła Kraków's Roch Zdeb managed to reach the ball for a save. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roch Zdeb read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of play forced Wisła Kraków's goalkeeper Roch Zdeb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 32 played minutes Wisła Kraków got a freekick which was hit by Cesare Schiavoni. Roch Zdeb came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. Roch Zdeb showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of the match. Ermanno Puglielli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariusz Kornaszewski in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Widodo 吕蒙 hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 64 minutes into the match, Wisła Kraków's goalkeeper Roch Zdeb had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Camilo Gisbert. The supporters of Wisła Kraków booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute Mariusz Kornaszewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariusz Kornaszewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariusz Kornaszewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ecuador eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
