In the 10th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Abbiati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christian Abbiati showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 15th minute of the match. If Ime Mavros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Milagros Fraga hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Gösta Söderberg came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Abbiati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julian Zgonina made in the 46th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Marian Sobania however managed to control. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. Christian Abbiati stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Eliseo Mina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Gösta Söderberg came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julian Murillo scored 0-4 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christian Abbiati, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Eliseo Mina hit a great ball. Rolando Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gösta Söderberg went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Alonso Berganza made in the 74th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Moises Gayoso. 75 minutes into the match, KANONIERZY's goalkeeper Christian Abbiati had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luz Tejedor. Luz Tejedor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Christian Abbiati made a huge save. Alonso Berganza got a throw-in 78 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Moises Gayoso. Christian Abbiati showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonio Tenorio got free with Christian Abbiati in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Peru walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
