Paraguay's Raul Venegas quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Robert Stoica fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pardina's protests and gave Robert Stoica a yellow card for diving instead. When the match was over Paraguay could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pardina throughout the match.
