When Daniel Zorita, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 24 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The 董德坚 was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. ☆冰谷☆〓嗜血〓冰峰's 董德坚 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 倪鸿强 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 89th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play.
