They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With his leg Sabri Erdoğan managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Peru's Milagros Fraga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 58th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabri Erdoğan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sabri Erdoğan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 62nd minute. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sansone Poso in the 63rd minute of play.
