When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 21st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony Zanette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tage Backlund in the 22nd minute. Rony Zanette made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the match, Xiboquinha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Rony Zanette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rony Zanette made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 38th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Jeremias Preuss might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeremias Preuss ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. After having played for 63 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Xiboquinha FC's goalkeeper Rony Zanette, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 68th minute, which Rony Zanette however easily saved by the left post. After 71 played minutes Xiboquinha FC got a freekick which was hit by Yenal Kargin. With a little luck, Xiboquinha FC's Rony Zanette got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Xiboquinha FC's Sílvio Favoretto got a free kick in the 80th minute. Rony Zanette showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 89th minute of the match. When Primitivo Andino fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Primitivo Andino a yellow card for diving instead. In the 95th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Xiboquinha FC throughout the match.
