The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A wasted opportunity for Segmon IF. Leif Löfdahl could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. In the 18th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfons Glad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfons Glad stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lautaro Mancebo's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. The Segmon IF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leif Löfdahl was the one to do the kick off. Segmon IF's Alfons Glad proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Segmon IF from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Segmon IF defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfons Glad. The Segmon IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfons Glad should have stopped the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Alfons Glad successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Segmon IF's Alfons Glad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 61st minute of play. With a little luck, Segmon IF's Alfons Glad got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th minute, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Facundo Cadaval hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mexico walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
