FlagellumDei's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Endre Döbrögi's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Félix Moravecz in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 91st minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Endre Döbrögi kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
