When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robby Woody made a kick off. Iwan Grocholski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Facundo Cadaval, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 52 minutes La Academia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Facundo Cadaval got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Iwan Grocholski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Saul Goodman hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 56th minute, Saul Goodman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. La Academia's Putra Parios got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Putra Parios came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the La Academia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Putra Parios couldn't finish the play. Iwan Grocholski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 71st minute. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 72nd minute. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Iwan Grocholski quite easily take care of the ball.
