When Hector Covarrubias came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hector Covarrubias couldn't finish the play. Tautvydas Mickevičius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goal looked a bit too open when Primitivo Escribano came free, but Tautvydas Mickevičius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Tautvydas Mickevičius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 68th minute of the match. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Tautvydas Mickevičius proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA from getting a goal against them. Hector Covarrubias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Tautvydas Mickevičius made a huge save. 71 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Tautvydas Mickevičius had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Pardo. Tautvydas Mickevičius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 73rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Pardo got free with Tautvydas Mickevičius in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tautvydas Mickevičius stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Pardo's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Jaime Pardo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Tautvydas Mickevičius when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 84 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Covarrubias came free, but Tautvydas Mickevičius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
