After a defensive mix-up in Candelaria FC's zone, Orlando Casaus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danilo Testa came out of the goal and Orlando Casaus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chile's Xavier Figueroa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Wieslaw Bielejewski in the 10 minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariano Lacasa in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Danilo Testa saved Candelaria FC from getting behind. 14 minutes into the game, Christian Gómez threw the ball into play from the sideline. Chile's Pedro Indiano quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Danilo Testa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Sven-Olof Sjöberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Candelaria FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sven-Olof Sjöberg in the 17th minute.
