With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Visen Allu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Candido Piedra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. A collision led to Altermundi FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Francisco Ignacio Bolton hit a great ball. After having played for 39 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerónimo Molina to make the kick off. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergiu Zgrăbunţa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute of the match Jude Hylton sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Candido Piedra made a huge save. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Altermundi FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Candido Piedra in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Candido Piedra made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Candido Piedra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 84 minutes, Visen Allu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Altermundi FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
