Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Jaru-Uaru's Válbson Rocha started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. In the 7th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sérgio Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. When Válbson Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Jaru-Uaru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válbson Rocha couldn't finish the play. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Válbson Rocha sent off a good shot on target. Danilo Paulista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 19 minutes of play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luiz Fabiano Corrêa was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee felt a red card was in order, 24 minutes into the game, when Alexander Carballo put in a rough tackle. 23 minutes into the game, one of Costa Rica:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 34 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Válbson Rocha. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice moves Válbson Rocha could shoot a difficult shot in the 41st minute, which Benito Sanz however easily saved by the left post. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson Rocha in the 45th minute of play. The Jaru-Uaru players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Costa Rica were winning 0-1.

In the 56th minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fabiano Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseo Noboa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Fabiano Corrêa having to make a save. Luiz Fabiano Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 61st minute of play. If Válbson Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Costa Rica's Luiz Fabiano Corrêa threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aaron Alcocer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Sérgio Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense. 89 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luiz Fabiano Corrêa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3.
