After 18 played minutes, Nacional's Xu Sha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marco Day came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nacional reached it. Nacional's Cristiano Aveiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 19th minute of play. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grabiel Escorcia in the 23rd minute of play. Cristiano Aveiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cassius Byrne in the 27th minute of the match. After 47 played minutes Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Ekain Menendez. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Grabiel Escorcia to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Cristiano Aveiro in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristiano Aveiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 80th minute of the match. Marta Minuhin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the match, USA's Jenson Smith sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristiano Aveiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristiano Aveiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Khalid Parry in the 88th minute of play. In the 94th match minute, Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Geromel to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Jenson Smith managed to get in a good position for a shot. USA's supporters rose to their feet, but Jenson Smith was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristiano Aveiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over USA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Nacional throughout the match.
