The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Salvador Gisbert a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvador Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ibis Football Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Ibis Football Club booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th match minute, Ibis Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Oskar Nordstedt to maneuver through the defense. After 16 minutes, Jose Correa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Ibis Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 20th minute Eurico Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Peixoto in the 29th minute of play. After 30 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eurico Peixoto who took care of the corner kick. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amauri Lago in the 31st minute. Ibis Football Club's Eurico Peixoto was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 33rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Eurico Peixoto sent off a good shot on target. After 44 played minutes Ibis Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Kalidou Koulibaly. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Eurico Peixoto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. In the 54th minute, Eurico Peixoto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eurico Peixoto's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Patricio Costa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Acácio Vasco, 1-1. Eurico Peixoto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. After taking down the ball on Ibis Football Club's corner Eurico Peixoto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lauro Cordeiro in the 64th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Acácio Vasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. In the 68th minute, Eurico Peixoto made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Ibis Football Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. The corner ended in Tomas Illescas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ibis Football Club's Acácio Vasco did a great save. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eurico Peixoto, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. 84 minutes into the game, Eurico Peixoto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 87 minutes into the match, Ibis Football Club's Eurico Peixoto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Ibis Football Club's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
