Pedro Manzanares didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 7th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Orlando Tafalla hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christoffer Blomqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the match, Christoffer Blomqvist dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pedro Manzanares, 2-0. Christoffer Blomqvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by MILLONARIOS FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Axel Montenegro was slow to take the kick. During this time Colombia's players had a chance to rest. Angelo Prior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Mastache in the 27th minute of play. Angelo Prior showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd minute, Colombia's Antonio Indiano seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Antonio Indiano the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Colombia protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Antonio Indiano had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Colombia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 43rd minute. Penalty! Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. The throw-in from Theo Hernández in the 53rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Colombia's Axel Montenegro. 55 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Baladi Ribalta came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kevin Mastache fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Prior having to interfere. Christoffer Blomqvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christoffer Blomqvist ran back to his position shaking his head. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christoffer Blomqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 63 minutes into the game, Orlando Tafalla threw the ball into play from the sideline. MILLONARIOS FC's Svenn Matzke quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 65 minutes into the game, Theo Hernández threw the ball into play from the sideline. Angelo Prior was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Christoffer Blomqvist came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the MILLONARIOS FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christoffer Blomqvist couldn't finish the play. MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 88th minute of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. MILLONARIOS FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Colombia for much of the match.
