After having played for 18 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Agustín Saelices fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Martin Cordeal quite easily take care of the ball. In the 27th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Cordeal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30thth minute of the game Teobaldo Rosario who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 55th minute, which Martin Cordeal however easily saved by the left post. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romulo Matia in the 60th minute of the match. Teobaldo Rosario's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Romulo Matia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. C. S. D. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by C. S. D. Pueyrredón's Halil İbrahim Yeltekin. But to his dismay, Halil İbrahim Yeltekin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Halil İbrahim Yeltekin in the 81st minute of the match. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Cordeal having to interfere.
