Cacá Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Váldson Mendes came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】's Váldson Mendes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 after 37 minutes of play. Dedê Guerra hit a great ball. Cacá Ribeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patricio Costa went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Venezuela's Joshua Secada got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tales Coutinho in the 58th minute of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】's Cacá Ribeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】 from getting a goal against them. 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】 made a substitution. Willian França replaced Silvério Gomes. 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】's Raí Romero was substituted for Nildo de Queiroz. In the 75th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jonathan Venegas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】's Cacá Ribeiro managed to reach the ball for a save. Willian França kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Váldson Mendes in the 78th minute of the match. Tomas Illescass short, quick shot in the 80thth minute got Cacá Ribeiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 84th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 85 played minutes, 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】's Raí Romero shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】 reached it. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Ribeiro having to interfere. After a rather tough play, 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】's Dadá Lucas got a free kick in the 94th minute.
