The referee gave Mexico a penalty, 14 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Joel Gaona, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Prishtina FC's Hickey Dunne. 0-1. Prishtina FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Boiken Juniku in the 18th minute. Hickey Dunne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 22nd minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hickey Dunne made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. With an all-out effort, Prishtina FC's Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Esat Naum, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 25th minute of the match, Esat Naum tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dante Lacasa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tião Donato got free with Dante Lacasa in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Esat Naum in the 32nd minute of the match. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Donato Conrao sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lajos Salamon during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 82 minutes into the game, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
