After 41 minutes, Claudio Abeijon made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Halcones's Claudio Abeijon got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaime Pardo made a kick off. Miromir Bochinski made in the 55th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Sebastian Ortzi however managed to control. Claudio Abeijon kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Halcones's goalkeeper Siro Lore, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sebastian Ortzi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 68 minutes into the match, Halcones's Claudio Abeijon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacobo Nores narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sebastian Ortzi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jaime Pardo might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Siro Lore. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaime Pardo ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Halcones getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Miromir Bochinski hit a great ball. Paraguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
