Halcones's Siro Lore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Fernandino in the 18th minute of play. Sebastian Ortzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudio Abeijon got free with Ricardo Zorita in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Siro Lore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Fernandino in the 37th minute of the match. Claudio Abeijon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Ricardo Zorita made a huge save. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Claudio Abeijon sped through El Salvador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. 46 minutes into the match, Claudio Abeijon notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moises Fernandino was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Abram Luque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Siro Lore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 56 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Magrina. Claudio Abeijon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 63 minutes, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Salvador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Fernandino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Jorge Magrina got a free kick in the 66th minute. 67 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Abeijon came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valentino Ferrant helped the player get up and apologised. Claudio Abeijon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudio Abeijon in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Zorita saved El Salvador from getting behind.
