Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sune Säv in the 5th minute of play. Ciudad Tao FC's Sven-Åke Markusson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 7th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After 15 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sven-Åke Markusson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ove Zachrissons short, quick shot in the 21stth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some careless play in the Ciudad Tao FC defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sven-Åke Markusson. The Ciudad Tao FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sven-Åke Markusson should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sven-Åke Markusson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 28 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Ciudad Tao FC's Sven-Åke Markusson. Sven-Åke Markusson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 35 played minutes Ciudad Tao FC got a freekick which was hit by Alfons Rudberg. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ciudad Tao FC's goalkeeper Sven-Åke Markusson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Åke Markusson having to interfere. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sven-Åke Markusson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Ove Zachrisson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. In the 64th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sven-Åke Markusson. Sven-Åke Markusson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Sven-Åke Markusson in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven-Åke Markusson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. 76 minutes into the match, Ciudad Tao FC's goalkeeper Sven-Åke Markusson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Luis Andino might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven-Åke Markusson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Andino ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 79 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sven-Åke Markusson having to make a save. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Åke Markusson having to interfere. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Sven-Åke Markusson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 95th minute of play forced Ciudad Tao FC's goalkeeper Sven-Åke Markusson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
