In the 15th minute, Ferrao FC's Carlinhos Viana dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Carlinhos Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Carlinhos Viana sent off a good shot on target. Carlinhos Vianas short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Benito Sanz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Carlinhos Viana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlinhos Viana got free with Benito Sanz in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 42nd minute of the match, Carlinhos Viana got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benito Sanz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Angelo Vidal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Angelo Vidal slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. Carlinhos Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. In the 75thth minute of the game Carlinhos Viana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlinhos Viana, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 79 minutes had been played when some careless play by Costa Rica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pelle Grini was slow to take the kick. During this time Ferrao FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Ferrao FC's Carlinhos Viana to fire away a dangerous shot which Benito Sanz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
