An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 3rd minute of play forced Timmernabben FF's goalkeeper Tomás Guillen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 4 minutes into the match, Timmernabben FF's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Tomás Guillen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Guillen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Timmernabben FF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mexico:s goal. The referee gave Mexico a penalty, 18 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Joel Gaona, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Timmernabben FF's Tomás Guillen. 0-1. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Timmernabben FF's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Tomás Guillen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Tomás Guillen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Tomás Guillen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Luca Zorita hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arnulfo Lugo in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Timmernabben FF's Tomás Guillen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Timmernabben FF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tomás Guillen came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Alberto Tafalla. But to his dismay, Alberto Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. A collision led to Timmernabben FF getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Arnulfo Lugo hit a great ball. Tomás Guillen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The Timmernabben FF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. Tomás Guillen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Timmernabben FF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Macos Graciani almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Timmernabben FF's Tomás Guillen did a great save. In the 55th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Luque to maneuver through the defense. Tomás Guillen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 63rd minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Tomás Guillen made a huge save. Luca Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Allan Hallgren during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnulfo Lugo, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Sakarias Stephansson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Sakarias Stephansson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomás Guillen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The Mexico players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
