Bandelocos's Nilson do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5th minute, Daniel Brasil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson do Vale having to interfere. In the 22nd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Nilson do Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Nilson do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bandelocos's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Rafael Sobis in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 41 minutes into the match, Bandelocos's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Nilson do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Betão Quirino hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Betão Quirino charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Betão Quirino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Betão Quirino hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nilson do Vale showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Luiz Guilherme Varela made the kick off in the second half. Nilson do Vale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 51st minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Guilherme Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Sobis, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilson do Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Nilson do Vale made a huge save. Nilson do Vale didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. 73 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Sobis came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Bandelocos's goalkeeper Nilson do Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luis Andino. Betão Quirino kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Nilson do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 85th minute of play forced Bandelocos's goalkeeper Nilson do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Bandelocos's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Nilson do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Bandelocos getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Daniel Brasil hit a great ball. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Bandelocos.
