Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 4 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ezio Gøl. The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alisson Goycochea was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Cristian Sancho put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Alisson Goycochea. Alisson Goycochea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ezio Gøl received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Ezio Gøl slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 17th minute. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Alisson Goycochea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orlando Loyola charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Orlando Loyola the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Valencia in the 51st minute of play. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute Ezio Gøl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ezio Gøl in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 58 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Valencia came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alisson Goycochea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fred Valencia's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. In the 67th match minute, INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilmar de Souza to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute, Nilmar de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nilmar de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute, Kauan Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanni Ramalho in the 79th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Fred Valencia hit a great ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovanni Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alisson Goycochea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 86th minute. Fred Valencia scored 2-1 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geovanni Ramalho went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanni Ramalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's Nilmar de Souza. But to his dismay, Nilmar de Souza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. The INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
