If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Hayden Baker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 13 played minutes West Ham got a freekick which was hit by J.C. Smith. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Romeo Callery during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, West Ham's Romeo Callery got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute of the match Abraham Alguacil sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hayden Baker skillfully saved the ball. Tomas Berganza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Miguel Miralles hit a great ball. Severo Laurentzi came free with the goalkeeper in the 31st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcos Cotilla could save by the left post. Hayden Baker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 34th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Severo Laurentzi sent off a good shot on target. Abraham Alguacil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. J.C. Smith was extremely unlucky when he, in the 46th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Severo Laurentzi to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Laurentzi in the 54th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laurentius Mändli during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th match minute, West Ham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurentius Mändli to maneuver through the defense. Jose Carita hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After 72 played minutes West Ham got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Poynton. In the 74th minute, Kurt Poynton made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isidoro Sarmiento kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from J.C. Smith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hayden Baker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 83rd minute of the match. The supporters of West Ham booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Carita didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Kurt Poynton fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored West Ham's protests and gave Kurt Poynton a yellow card for diving instead. Kurt Poynton hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. West Ham's Kurt Poynton got his second yellow card of the match in the 94th minute. The referee ordered Kurt Poynton off the ground. After a rather tough play, West Ham's Kurt Poynton got a free kick in the 95th minute. The West Ham support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
