Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Célio Mangueira took the kick off in the first half of the match. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wellington Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 11th minute of play. In the 14th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wellington Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Célio Mangueira came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 played minutes Joinville Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Catarinense. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. After having played for 21 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Célio Mangueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. 26 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wellington Montenegro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 27th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Joinville Esporte Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Joinville Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Wellington Montenegro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 33rd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wellington Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Joinville Esporte Clube's Flavinho Fantini got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 38th minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 41st minute, Alberto Tafalla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wellington Montenegro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Joinville Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Wellington Montenegro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. In the 51st minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wellington Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wellington Montenegro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Tafalla went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Wellington Montenegro made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. In the 61st minute, Lautaro Mancebo made a precise shot to the right of Wellington Montenegro. Joinville Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Wellington Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 65th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wellington Montenegro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberto Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célio Mangueira in the 72nd minute of play. Luca Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Wellington Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 80 minutes into the game, Fausto Aguiar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Joinville Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. After 81 played minutes Joinville Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Aguiar. Wellington Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 90 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wellington Montenegro was left in no man's land by his defense there! 93 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wellington Montenegro. Lautaro Mancebo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
