Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. 4 minutes into the match, Muharrem Sebih notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Gençlerbirliği fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Dursun Ekinci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 36th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Dursun Ekinci didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Constantijn Airpoel scored 3-2 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conrado Romero in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. 55 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Filiph Låsberg came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muharrem Sebih in the 61st minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Gençlerbirliği's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Dursun Ekinci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Filiph Låsberg charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Dursun Ekinci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 77th minute of play. Sümer Müjdat kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Claude van Damme, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Jean-Claude van Damme had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jean-Claude van Damme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. In the 90th minute Muharrem Sebih shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute of the match Gençlerbirliği got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Stanislaw Rekowski ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Gençlerbirliği's Cafer Korcan to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 95 played minutes Gençlerbirliği got a freekick which was hit by Ekrem Yay. Jean-Claude van Damme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Gençlerbirliği players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
