In the 22nd match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier Zoido to maneuver through the defense. Hector Covarrubias might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karol Kopacz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hector Covarrubias ran back to his position shaking his head. Jacobo Nores didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Czeslaw Skrzypiec went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Czeslaw Skrzypiec hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Juan Diego Tenorio kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Gortaty was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustaw Basaik didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the game, Jaime Pardo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Karol Kopacz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 43rd match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier Zoido to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jaime Pardo was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jaime Pardo in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karol Kopacz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gustaw Basaik's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustaw Basaik helped the player get up and apologised. Gustaw Basaik hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Jaime Pardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacobo Nores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartosz Chrzan in the 62nd minute of play. 75 minutes into the game, Czeslaw Skrzypiec cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Jacobo Nores was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 79 played minutes Gortaty got a freekick which was hit by Gustaw Basaik. Gortaty's Karol Kopacz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Gortaty from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Gortaty's Karol Kopacz got control of the ball when Jaime Pardo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hector Covarrubias's late challenge caught a Gortaty's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 89 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Escribano. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Paraguay players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
