Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Jan de Vlieger started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Ralph Roeles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralph Roeles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 6th minute of play forced Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goalkeeper Ralph Roeles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Ralph Roeles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ralph Roeles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan de Vlieger in the 34th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Bengt Petersson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. In the 39th minute Emiliano Caiola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ralph Roeles came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. Kurt van der Laan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan de Vlieger in the 56th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 59th minute, which Ralph Roeles however easily saved by the left post. Ralph Roeles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After having played for 74 minutes, Jan de Vlieger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan de Vlieger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th minute Jan de Vlieger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
