With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfonso de la Cruz in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean da Silva saved Brasilino from getting behind. Jean da Silva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Alejandro Villa lost his temper 39 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. If Eduardo Fontirroig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aírton Nóbrega was the one to do the kick off. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
