João Piranis short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Monteiro in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aírton Sousa was slow to take the kick. During this time Vascogoianiense FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Aírton Sousa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The corner led to Venezuela's Patricio Costa getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. João Pirani took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sidnei Leão during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 17 played minutes Vascogoianiense FC got a freekick which was hit by Sidnei Leão. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aírton Sousa in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute Vascogoianiense FC were awarded a corner. Aírton Sousa went to the cornerflag to take it. Vascogoianiense FC's Aírton Sousa was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 25th minute of play forced Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilmar Monteiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matheus Neto in the 41st minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilmar Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vascogoianiense FC's Nelsinho Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 53rd minute of play. Vascogoianiense FC's Gilmar Monteiro got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Tomas Illescas could shoot a difficult shot in the 55th minute, which Nelsinho Leite however easily saved by the left post. After 56 minutes Vascogoianiense FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. Salvador Gisbert made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Vascogoianiense FC's Nelsinho Leite managed to reach the ball for a save. 59 minutes into the game, Vascogoianiense FC's João Pirani nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, João Pirani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Leite, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 66th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Venezuela's Tomas Illescas to fire away a dangerous shot which Nelsinho Leite despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 68thth minute of the game João Pirani who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. João Pirani took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The audience was convinced that Gilmar Monteiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. When Aírton Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Vascogoianiense FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aírton Sousa couldn't finish the play. Nelsinho Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilmar Monteiro in the 81st minute of the match. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Gilmar Monteiro took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. In the 88th minute Aírton Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Gilmar Monteiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Gilmar Monteiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd match minute, Vascogoianiense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matheus Neto to maneuver through the defense. Vascogoianiense FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
