After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 40th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavio Cordaryal in the 42nd minute of play. Yanick Knecht showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by LIVIUS UNITED MLS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but LIVIUS UNITED MLS's Yanick Knecht did a great save. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. In the 62nd minute, Daniel Şimandan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 66th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yanick Knecht saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, LIVIUS UNITED MLS's goalkeeper Yanick Knecht had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. The referee gave Marcu Iosub a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Cristian Sancho was extremely unlucky when he, in the 94th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. LIVIUS UNITED MLS were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
