Horea Arbore hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the match, FC Dacii Liberi - IASI's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Mihnea Suşu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bogdan Chelaru couldn't finish the play. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaizko Abaurre in the 47th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Román Santos was shown his second yellow card after 72 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Honduras's Luca Espinar managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Demetrio Nero in the 87 minute of the game. Sebastian Villa struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Mihnea Suşu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. In the 92nd minute Bogdan Chelaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Demetrio Nero made in the 94th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Bogdan Chelaru however managed to control. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Honduras eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
