Panama's Felipe Ros suffered a concussion in the 9th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. In the 10th minute, Mattias Smefeldt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mattias Smefeldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredrik Bennet having to interfere. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Samurai defense, Tomas Berganza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fredrik Bennet. The Samurai fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fredrik Bennet should have stopped the shot. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fredrik Bennet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 32nd minute of play. If Miguel Miralles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Samurai's zone, Isidoro Sarmiento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fredrik Bennet came out of the goal and Isidoro Sarmiento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abraham Alguacil struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Fredrik Bennet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. Miguel Miralles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fredrik Bennet having to make a save. After 47 minutes, Roger Kalfhage mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Samurai and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes Samurai got a freekick which was hit by Roger Kalfhage. In the 48th minute of the match Abraham Alguacil shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fredrik Bennet showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half Panama were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mattias Smefeldt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Miguel Miralles came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Miralles couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Samurai getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Henry Kjellkvist hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Tomas Berganza made a precise shot to the right of Fredrik Bennet. Samurai's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Fredrik Bennet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miguel Miralles struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Fredrik Bennet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. In the 76th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidoro Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. 77 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Mattias Smefeldt came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Cambeiro to maneuver through the defense. Olov Bäckström kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the game, Panama's Abraham Alguacil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fredrik Bennet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Fredrik Bennet came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Panama's Abraham Alguacil. But to his dismay, Abraham Alguacil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 95th minute of play forced Samurai's goalkeeper Fredrik Bennet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredrik Bennet having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Panama left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Samurai.
