Waldir Urbano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Silverio Corderun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Silverio Corderun made a huge save. A collision led to Tasso FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Berkin Dilsafa hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Silverio Corderun. That made the score 0-5 in the 58 minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Tasso FC's goalkeeper Silverio Corderun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro managed to work through Tasso FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Felix Montenegro dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! When Tasso FC's Normando Fiúza in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. León Zambrano hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Silverio Corderun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 95th minute. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
