In the 5th minute Zé Pedro Dionísio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Paez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Lago in the 7th minute of play forced Falckner FC's goalkeeper Amancio Paez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Pedro Dionísio scored 2-0 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amancio Paez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Castanheiro SC's Dagoberto de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robustiano Izel in the 18th minute of play. A collision led to Falckner FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Robustiano Izel hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Falckner FC's goalkeeper Amancio Paez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Pedro Dionísio. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Pedro Dionísio got free with Amancio Paez in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Falckner FC booed when Castanheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandrinho Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the game, Benedito Viana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castanheiro SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Falckner FC the free kick. In the 37th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito Viana to maneuver through the defense. Dagoberto de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robustiano Izel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amancio Paez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guilherme Macedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After some careless play in the Falckner FC defense, Arnaldo Lago kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amancio Paez. The Falckner FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amancio Paez should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Arnaldo Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castanheiro SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaldo Lago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amancio Paez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Haroldo Eufemio got free with Dagoberto de Queirós in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Falckner FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Robustiano Izel in the 96th minute. The corner ended in Robustiano Izel almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Castanheiro SC's Dagoberto de Queirós did a great save. Castanheiro SC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
