The audience was convinced that Serafim Simão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amancio Paez was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Amancio Paez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Orella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the match, Falckner FC's goal looked a bit too open when David Vale came free, but Amancio Paez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Zé Orella kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Amancio Paez. That made the score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when Falckner FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Alvarez didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Falckner FC's goalkeeper Amancio Paez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jhon Barcellos. Amancio Paez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Orella in the 25th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Zé Orella cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Amancio Paez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 31st minute, Jhon Barcellos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Amancio Paez. The goal made the score 3-0. Amancio Paez was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and Jhon Barcellos capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jhon Barcellos really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgardo Lleir stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Jhon Barcellos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amancio Paez. Falckner FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jhon Barcellos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Orella in the 55th minute of play forced Falckner FC's goalkeeper Amancio Paez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Zé Orella managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palestra do Interior's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Orella was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amancio Paez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Falckner FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Dionisio Emesto hit a great ball. If Sandy Ogrocki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amancio Paez came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Zé Orella. But to his dismay, Zé Orella quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. In the 74th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedé Mazer to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Simão in the 77th minute of play forced Falckner FC's goalkeeper Amancio Paez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Falckner FC's Amancio Paez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jhon Barcellos in the 78th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Orella in the 79th minute of play forced Falckner FC's goalkeeper Amancio Paez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the game, Teodoro Oliveiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Falckner FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra do Interior the free kick. After 82 played minutes Falckner FC got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Oliveiro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Simão in the 84th minute of play forced Falckner FC's goalkeeper Amancio Paez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 85 minutes of play, Palestra do Interior's Zé Orella made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amancio Paez was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Palestra do Interior fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when Palestra do Interior's Zé Orella looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
