Kıvanç Sorgun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Pirani in the 31st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldo Pirani in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kıvanç Sorgun saved FCFiratRom from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Ronaldo Pirani put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Kıvanç Sorgun. When Pau Lin-Carlos came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Palestra do Interior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pau Lin-Carlos couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ronaldo Pirani to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, FCFiratRom was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Er Can to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Delfim Quintal hit a great ball. 59 minutes into the game, Aşık Kutsel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FCFiratRom's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra do Interior the free kick. After a rather tough play, FCFiratRom's Aşık Kutsel got a free kick in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bahattin Enfal in the 63rd minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Ronaldo Pirani could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Kıvanç Sorgun however easily saved by the left post. Palestra do Interior's Serafim Simão got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Palestra do Interior's Dinei Brito was substituted for Zé Orella. Palestra do Interior's Ezequiel de Souza was substituted for Doni Pimenta. Pau Lin-Carlos took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kıvanç Sorgun. Kıvanç Sorgun dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Kıvanç Sorgun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelson Xavier, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After having played for 88 minutes, Pau Lin-Carlos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra do Interior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pau Lin-Carlos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pau Lin-Carlos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rama Zanetti in the 95th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Palestra do Interior walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
