Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeo Gomesano in the 4th minute of the match. With a little luck, De Boedo Vengo's Cayetano Esdras got control of the ball when Nelsinho Marinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Severiano Amaya kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicasio Bartoleme in the 18th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Palestra do Interior's Antônio Carlos Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicasio Bartoleme in the 18th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Ronaldo Pirani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palestra do Interior's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Pirani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cayetano Esdras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nelson Xavier hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 0-1 became the score in the 22nd minute when Nicasio Bartoleme elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Cayetano Esdras came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Palestra do Interior's Ronaldo Pirani. But to his dismay, Ronaldo Pirani quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 28 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's Ronaldo Pirani sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cayetano Esdras narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victoriano Ibañez in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of De Boedo Vengo booed when Palestra do Interior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peder Neira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Nelsinho Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palestra do Interior's supporters rose to their feet, but Nelsinho Marinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cayetano Esdras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nelsinho Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cayetano Esdras having to interfere. David Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, De Boedo Vengo's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Pirani came free, but Cayetano Esdras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nelsinho Marinho to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Ronaldo Pirani hit a great ball. Peder Neira hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. De Boedo Vengo's Lázaro Turi shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 55th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Antônio Carlos Cavalcante but with some difficulty. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. David Vale hit a great ball. Victoriano Ibañez hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Cayetano Esdras stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nelsinho Marinho's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute, Serafim Simão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Palestra do Interior's Dinei Brito was substituted for Ronaldo Pirani. In the 66thth minute of the game Nelsinho Marinho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but De Boedo Vengo's Cayetano Esdras was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Serafim Simão sped through De Boedo Vengo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cayetano Esdras. De Boedo Vengo's Cayetano Esdras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafim Simão in the 72nd minute of play. In the 74th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisão de Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, Pau Lin-Carlos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cayetano Esdras was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Cayetano Esdras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelsinho Marinho in the 83rd minute of play. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Ezequiel de Souza hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the De Boedo Vengo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Palestra do Interior.
