An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelsinho Marinho in the 2nd minute of play forced KFC Uerdingen 05's goalkeeper Radenko Mayer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Serafim Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Radenko Mayer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48thth minute of the game Ronaldo Pirani who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KFC Uerdingen 05's Radenko Mayer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Peder Neira hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After 54 played minutes KFC Uerdingen 05 got a freekick which was hit by Alois Fontagnier. A hard shot 59 in the game by Nelson Xavier from a close distance when the talented Radenko Mayer managed to make a qualified save. KFC Uerdingen 05's players were relieved. After 75 minutes of play, Palestra do Interior's Serafim Simão made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Radenko Mayer was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, KFC Uerdingen 05's Gregor Reinauer got a free kick in the 85th minute. Pau Lin-Carlos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radenko Mayer having to interfere. 94 minutes into the game, Nelsinho Marinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palestra do Interior's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Uerdingen 05 the free kick. Dinei Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Palestra do Interior's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
