After 19 played minutes, União Sport Clube Paredes's Dabi Saens shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Victoriano Bernaldo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in União Sport Clube Paredes reached it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerónimo Furtado in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victoriano Bernaldo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Jerónimo Furtado sped through Dep Colonia Avellaneda's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Victoriano Bernaldo. In the 28th minute, Jerónimo Furtado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 31 minutes into the match, União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Rosa. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darryl Buckner in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edwin van der Sar saved União Sport Clube Paredes from getting behind. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Victoriano Bernaldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dabi Saens in the 36th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leopoldo Rosa got free with Edwin van der Sar in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 46th minute of the match, Darryl Buckner tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edwin van der Sar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 47th minute of the match Dep Colonia Avellaneda got a corner. União Sport Clube Paredes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Claudio Cerritos ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Dep Colonia Avellaneda's corner Claudio Cerritos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Edwin van der Sar quite easily take care of the ball. The Dep Colonia Avellaneda players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. União Sport Clube Paredes were winning 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leopoldo Rosa to make the kick off. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victoriano Bernaldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dabi Saens in the 65th minute of the match. The supporters of União Sport Clube Paredes booed when Dep Colonia Avellaneda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascual Lesardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. União Sport Clube Paredes's Horia Taşcu was substituted for Dabi Saens. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Victoriano Bernaldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 89th minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Jerónimo Furtado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Victoriano Bernaldo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. União Sport Clube Paredes's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
